How Odoo works: every process in one system

Odoo is a suite of business applications developed in Belgium. Accounting, inventory, sales, CRM, purchasing, manufacturing, projects, HR and eCommerce all run on a single database: a sales order flows straight to the warehouse, and every stock move creates the matching accounting entry. Nobody has to retype data from one program into another.

Odoo's main strength is flexibility: start with one or two modules and add more as the business grows. For a fuller explanation, read our article "What is Odoo?".

Odoo modules we implement

Each module works on its own, and together they bring every process in the company into one system. Each module has its own page with details:

All 16 modules are listed on our services page.

Odoo for small and mid-sized businesses

Odoo is not just for large corporations. Our projects average about 6 users, and the largest covers more than 30. So most of our experience is with small and mid-sized companies: trading companies with several warehouses, manufacturing workshops, distributors, and service and project businesses.

Odoo pays off most when:

  • records are kept in Excel or in several programs that do not talk to each other;
  • stock levels do not match the accounting figures;
  • customer history lives in salespeople's phones and notebooks;
  • management waits days for a report.

Two or three modules are usually enough to start. Once the system is running and the team is comfortable, you can add more.

How an Odoo implementation works

We follow the same sequence on every project, so at each stage you know what has been done and what comes next.

1. Business analysis

We study your processes, document flow and reporting needs. The result is a written scope: which modules you need, what standard Odoo covers and what needs extra work.

2. Configuration

We set the modules up around your company's rules: product categories, warehouses, price lists, approval flows, user roles and access rights.

3. Data migration

We move your customer and supplier lists, product catalogue, opening stock and open balances from 1C, Excel or other systems into Odoo, then check the result together with you.

4. Training

We train staff by role: accountants learn accounting, warehouse staff learn stock operations, and salespeople learn sales and CRM.

5. Go-live

We switch day-to-day work to the new system and stay close to the team in the first weeks, so questions are answered right away.

6. Support

After go-live we keep supporting you, add new modules and develop the system further.

Project duration depends on the number of modules and users, the volume of data to migrate and any custom requirements. We give you a detailed plan and an estimated timeline after a free initial analysis.

Industries we work in

Our odoo.com profile lists these as our main areas of expertise:

  • Warehousing and distribution - multi-warehouse stock, supply and delivery.
  • Retail - one set of records for the shop, the till and the warehouse.
  • Finance and accounting - payments, settlements and management reports.
  • Manufacturing - bills of materials, work orders and costing.
  • Construction - projects, purchasing and cost control.

For retailers we also supply POS hardware that works with Odoo.

Odoo Community vs Enterprise: what is the difference?

Odoo comes in two editions. We recommend the right one after analysing your needs.

CommunityEnterprise
LicenceFree, open sourcePaid subscription per user
ModulesCore modulesAll modules, including full accounting and Studio
HostingYour own server or a cloud serverOdoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own server
Version upgradesA separate projectIncluded for standard modules; custom modules are adapted separately

Current licence prices are on Odoo's official site: odoo.com/pricing. The cost has two parts: the licence at Odoo's official prices (for Enterprise) and the partner's implementation services.

Moving from 1C to Odoo

Some of our customers come to Odoo from 1C. The aim of the switch is to lose no data and keep the business running: master data (customers, products) and balances are migrated first, the figures are reconciled across both systems, and only then does the team move fully to Odoo. We explain the reasons and compare the two in our article "5 reasons to move from 1C to Odoo".

Our projects

See our Odoo projects across different industries on the projects page. For example: AzərTexnoloji Park, Azmerika, Supply Chain Management System. The full list of customer references is published on our odoo.com profile.

How to choose an Odoo partner

Several Odoo partners operate in Azerbaijan, and the choice has a direct effect on how the project turns out. Before you decide, we suggest checking:

  • the partner's level and references - odoo.com's directory shows every partner's status and reference count publicly;
  • how many certified consultants the partner has, and on which Odoo version;
  • experience with companies in your industry and of your size;
  • how support is organised after go-live, and during which hours;
  • whether the proposal rests on a written analysis rather than a vague "everything included" promise.

Frequently asked questions

How can I check an official Odoo partner in Azerbaijan?

Official partners are listed in odoo.com's Azerbaijan partner directory with their level, published references and certified experts. Arter is listed as Silver: the only Silver Partner in odoo.com's Azerbaijan partner directory (as of 30 September 2026), with 28 published references and 4 Odoo v18 certified experts.

What determines the cost of an Odoo implementation?

It depends on the number of modules and users, the choice of Community or Enterprise, the volume of data to migrate, and any custom reports or integrations. The cost has two parts: the licence at Odoo's official prices (for Enterprise) and the partner's implementation services. We give you an estimate after a free initial analysis.

How long does an implementation take?

It depends on the number of modules and users, how much data comes over from 1C or Excel, and any custom development. A small project on two or three standard modules finishes much sooner than a multi-warehouse project with custom reporting. We give you an estimated schedule in writing after a free initial analysis.

Is Odoo a good fit for a small business?

Yes. Our projects average about 6 users. A small company can start with two or three modules and extend the system as it grows.

Should I choose Community or Enterprise?

Community is free and can be enough for simple processes. Enterprise adds full accounting, extra modules, Odoo Online and version upgrades. We make the choice with you after analysing your processes.

Where is Odoo hosted?

There are three main options: Odoo Online (Odoo's own cloud), Odoo.sh (a cloud platform for custom modules), and your own or a rented server. We pick the option that fits your security requirements and budget.

What support do you provide after go-live?

We answer user questions, fix issues and implement new requirements. Our hours: Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00, Saturday 10:00-15:00.

Will we lose our 1C data?

No. After master data, balances and open items are migrated, we reconcile the figures across both systems. The old system stays available until the reconciliation is complete.

Do you train our staff?

Yes, training is part of every implementation. Each user group learns its own part of the system, and we also train employees who join later.
